Night of Swearing-In Ceremony

Allan and I stayed at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown LA after his ceremony, to celebrate my birthday and his new ability to VOTE! It was just 4 miles away and after trying to escape the parking situation at the Sports Arena we were very thankful it was that close. The hotel is featured in the movie True Lies with Arnold Schwarzeneggar. There is a scene where Arnold rides a horse into glass elevators chasing a bad guy. There is also a revolving restaurant/lounge at the top of the hotel. It was really cool. It takes about an hour and twenty minutes to do a full 360. We stayed about 2 hours and drank great bellinis and beer (can you guess who had the fruity champagne cocktails and who drank the beer?) We then went to the other restaurant above the lounge and had the best food ever! It rivaled the best food in Vegas! There's a chef there who could give Bobby Flay a run for his money!

The next morning we went to the spa and got a couples massage package. We both got foot reflexology massages and then full body massages. The full body was the best ever!! We felt re-energized and ready to go. Good thing because immediately after we had to go meet with our management guy regarding our house in Thousand Oaks.

So much driving these past few weeks. We are sick of the car at the moment. Great thing is we can just walk across the street for everything. Allan and Jon are carpooling to save gas every morning for work now as well.
